Shannon is an American photojournalist and a featured contributor with Reportage by Getty Images, having started on their Emerging Talent roster in October 2011. She won Magnum Photo's Inge Morath Award in 2014, one of the most prestigious prizes for female photographers under the age of 30. Her work has also been awarded by Amnesty International, Pictures of the Year International, Days Japan, Magenta's Flash Forward Emerging Photographers and the National Press Photographers Association.
Her work has been screened at LOOK3 Festival of the Photograph and is included in Open Society's 2014 Moving Walls exhibition.
Clients and publications include The New York Times, Newsweek, Le Monde, Stern, Sunday Times Magazine, Saturday Telegraph Magazine, 6Mois, GEO, Monocle, National Geographic Society & Medecins Sans Frontieres.
Shannon graduated in 2007 from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School with a B.S. in Economics, which she greatly enjoyed despite its questionable relevance to current pursuits.
